Full examinations with complete ocular health assessments – We evaluate the health of your eyes by including pressure checks, glaucoma & diabetic screenings, and general eye health using specialized instruments to examine the wall of your eyes. We examine how well your eye muscles work and give you a comprehensive examination to determine your prescription.

Child Vision Care – Your child should have their eyes examined by the time they turn 3 years old. Since children develop quickly, the state of their eyes can also change rapidly. Thus, children are covered under OHIP once every year for their full eye examination.

Contact Lenses and Glasses – We provide a comprehensive selection of glasses and contacts at our practice. Our focus is to ensure that we provide you with most appropriate correction based on your prescription, health, and occupation. We are committed to staying abreast on the latest and best technology, allowing us to provide you with the best care possible.

Visual Field Examinations – This specialized examination allows us to determine how well your peripheral or side vision functions. It is crucial tool when investigating headaches and glaucoma, as it will allow us to see how well your optic nerve and its pathway function. This test may be mandatory for certain individuals when applying for specialized licenses through the Ministry of Transportation.

Laser Surgery Consultations – Refractive surgery techniques have changed dramatically over the last few years. Furthermore, many different options are currently available to correct the need for glasses or contact lenses. We pride ourselves on our knowledge and experience in giving the best advice on the type of surgery that is required for your eyes. The consultation requires an in depth exam which includes: reviewing your prescription and examining the front and back surface of your eyes. We also provide post-operative examinations once the surgery is complete, as we co-manage with the some of the best surgeons in area.

Low Vision Aids – As we age, macular degeneration and other retinal disease start to affect vision to the point were glasses or surgery no longer help. Low visual aids such as magnifiers and telescopes can be used to improve vision for specific tasks. Dr. Simi Mahil has experience and a special interest in this area and can therefore help some of your low vision patients. Both Drs. Surinder and Simi Mahil are authorizers and suppliers under Assistive Device Program, thus financial help is available through this government initiative.
